Hanover — The campaign for Freedom of Expression Week 2021 was awarded the DPRG’s International German PR Prize during the second week of the campaign. DEZES Public Relations, as part of the Frankfurt Agency Alliance, was intensively involved in the conception and implementation of the campaign.
The initiative of the German Publishers & Booksellers Association and the Frankfurt Agency Alliance won in the category of “Issues – Conflicts – Crises”, prevailing against initiatives from FUNKE Mediengruppe and ADAC Mittelrhein. The award ceremony took place on May 5 as part of the German PR Day in Hanover. Representatives of the German Publishers & Booksellers Association and the Frankfurt Agency Alliance accepted the award.
“We are very pleased to receive this award. After all, in order to make as many people as possible aware of the importance of freedom of the word, it is necessary to reach them in the first place. The decision of the top-caliber jury shows us that we have found the right channels to the public. A big thank you goes to the Frankfurt Agency Alliance, with which we were able to develop the campaign as a team and which made its success story possible in the first place,” says Thomas Koch, press spokesman for the German Publishers & Booksellers Association.
“With the campaign claim #MoreThanMyOpinion, we put the lifeblood of democracy into words and sparked a discussion in society that we never thought possible. Thanks to the jury for recognizing this,” said Claudio Montanini on behalf of the Frankfurt Agency Alliance.
The PR Prize is awarded annually by the German Public Relations Association DPRG in a total of 22 categories. The jury consists of 36 representatives of the communications industry. A total of over 200 projects had been submitted for the 22 categories.
